Organic coffee is becoming more popular than ever, especially since it is cultivated without the use of harmful chemicals or pesticides. For a coffee to be constituted as organic, it must be grown without chemical pesticides for a minimum of three years. This ensures that any coffee product that is labeled as organic is accurately safe for the consumer.

When purchasing organic coffee, you may have discovered that coffee beans offer a number of different flavor notes and profiles. These flavors can range from caramel, chocolatey, smoky, spicy, and fruity. When it comes to choosing the best organic coffee bean purchase, you may be wondering where to begin. The truth of the matter is that coffee flavor profiles can be attributed to a number of factors. Once organic coffee beans are dark roasted, sugars are released in the process to create deeper caramel and chocolate flavors. If you are looking for a sweeter and fuller taste in your coffee beverage, you may want to try a dark roast for this reason. An espresso roast is often one of the darkest roast varieties, and it offers a much smokier flavor as the sugars start to burn on the coffee beans during the roasting process. Of course, this is often the optimal flavor for an espresso roast since it pairs perfectly with classic espresso beverages, like cappuccinos and lattes.

The bottom line is that it is up to you when it comes to your coffee roast preferences, but organic is the way to go to protect yourself from harmful chemical additives in your coffee brew!
